This unique class with artist Kimberly Brooks unites artists from around the world through comprehensive and engaging curriculum.
The course spans over eight weeks, and includes over 75 videos covering the foundational topics of painting in-depth such as best practices, essential supplies, vital techniques, and how to induce flow and be completely engaged with your work.
Accompanied by art history and science, you will learn how to set up a solvent-free painting practice so that you can paint anywhere, anytime.
Throughout the session, Brooks takes you into studios of contemporary artists and streams them in a private Facebook group. During the visits, artists talk about topics ranging from how they begin a painting, to sharing closely-guarded technical processes that makes their work unique.
Alongside the curriculum is a step-by-step assignment whereby students can start from scratch and begin building a body of work. These steps lead to deliverables that are easily uploaded for a weekly live session review with the class.
Members are invited to an exclusive Facebook group where artists interact with each other, respond to one another’s work, share inspiration, and discuss the process of creating their own work per the assignments.
The live sessions occur over Zoom and are conducted at the same time each week. These live sessions unite students from around the world in creating a one-of-a-kind artist community.
This class is appropriate for beginners and experienced painters alike. Students range from all walks of life and professions including tech CEOs, art professors, scientists, Disney animators, best-selling authors, and architects to name a few.
The course is offered twice during the academic year, and is open for enrollment for two weeks prior to the start date of the course.
